October 2018
10.1.2018
I hope everyone is enjoying a well-deserved Fall Break. Even though I am working this week, it has been nice to slow down and reflect on our first 2 months of school. It has been a busy, but a fun start! Thank you, all, for everything you do for our kids and community. Please know that it does not go unnoticed.
I cannot wait for you guys to see the building! The white (actually called "blanche") may be shocking to some at first, but once you guys put student work back on the walls, it will look even better. Please help us communicate to the students (and families) that change is good and help us explain how we are grateful to have funds to keep our school looking fresh and updated! This is somewhat of a lengthy Flipped Agenda, but when I have a week to work on it, that's what happens! |
October Super Specials
Thursday, Oct 4th & Friday, Oct 5th we will have our first set of Super Specials. If you are new to CHES, please be sure to see a teammate to understand how Super Specials work. All teams will be meeting in the PL room. Margaret sent an email on Sept 17th with the specifics, including time changes.
Kindergarten-3rd grade Online Report Card Training (20 minutes) Online Discipline Referrals Training (20 minutes) 4th & 5th grade Online Discipline Referrals Training (20 minutes) The remainder of the time is time to collaborate with your team and prepare for conferences. |
October #MVPChallengeCongratulations, Jenny & Deanna! You guys totally look like the Double Mint Twins!
For the month of October, our #MVPChallenge is going to be a little different. For October, we are asking you to conduct a quick observation of your MVP teaching and leave them an encouraging note about what you observed. Take a selfie of you with your MVP and students from the class (there will be 2 pictures...one from each MVP) and email or text them to Keeli. All entries will be included in a drawing for an opportunity to order something new for your classroom. *Both partners must submit a picture to be included in the drawing. You have the entire month of October. The drawing will be conducted on November 1st. |
Congratulations, Ellen!

A huge SHOUT OUT to Karen Courant for taking care of everything from quotes to the district paperwork for our painting refresh! It is not an easy task to take on and we are incredibly grateful for her spending countless hours organizing this for us.

Flight in Real Life Video
Last year I attended Leadercast with several other leaders in the district. It was amazing! If you ever have an opportunity to attend one, do it. I've been wanting to share this video with you guys for a while, but time has just slipped by me. If you are a frequent traveler (by air), enjoy the link below. It is hilarious and so-very-true.
