Great start! |

Thank you ALL for an awesome first few weeks. As I said on July 31, I know a classroom cannot be decorated with $75 and it is nearly impossible to get it ready for students with the limited time you have during pre-planning. Please know that we notice and appreciate everything you guys have done (and continue to do) for our school community.
Thank you ALL for the support you gave our Foundation with Boosterthon. Our Foundation would like to make this an annual event, instead of every other year in the hopes of funding some larger $ projects and improvements to our school. This week Tracey and I met with the Boosterthon team to get a date on the calendar for next year. As crazy as it may seem, we are one of the last schools to get on their calendar and the more ideal dates (not the first week of school), have already been spoken for, meaning it will likely be around the same timeframe as it was this year. We have asked to be put on the waiting list should something open a little later into August of 2019. We will keep you posted.
Each school year (actually more like each day in the field of education) we are presented with hurdles and obstacles that we thought we had prepared for...but some things are just not predictable. This year has been no exception. There have been a few days that we have needed "all hands on deck" and even requested some outside support. Whether you have been directly impacted or indirectly involved, thank you. I am beyond grateful for each of you. If you have no idea what I am referring to, trust that you have some amazing coworkers and incredibly supportive district personnel. Please also know that, even though human nature makes us want to ask questions, we have to respect confidentiality.
The first 5 people to email me, using "Seas the Day" in the subject line of your email, will get something from their "Favorites" list. We know you're busy, but we appreciate you taking the time to read the blog!
Congratulations
We have several things to celebrate! Please join me in congratulating some of our teammates:
Brittney (McCook) Cox returned to school as a newlywed.
Kasey West and her husband are expecting a baby BOY in January!
Margaret Grayburn and her chorus were invited to perform at the 2019 Georgia Music Educators Association Annual Conference in Athens, GA in January!
Valerie Henry was accepted into the CCSD 2018-2019 Teacher Leader Endorsement Program!
Hailey McCloskey, our new counselor, is ENGAGED!

Thank you, Tracey & Nicole
It truly takes a village, especially the first few weeks of school. I wanted to give a special shout out to Nicole Meador & Tracey Northington for spreading the remaining pine straw by the car line the first week. Due to construction the landscaping company was unable to spread the pine straw on that side of the building. I sent one "HELP" email to our Foundation and next thing I know, it's been spread and looks awesome. Thank you!
